For the last few weeks now BBC iPlayer has ceased to play anything on my iPhone. Works perfectly on my ipod Touch on the same wifi connection. It just stopped working one day..
I’ve tried the usual fixes:
- Clearing cache, cookies etc
- Resetting network setting.
There is another method which involves going to “about:blank” in safari and killing safari (pressing home button for ten seconds), then clearing cache.
None of these have fixed the problem so far. My only option will be to restore.
If anyone else is expeirenceing this problem and has a fix, let us know. I love BBC iPlayer.
EDIT:
HERE IS THE FIX
There is now a fix out for this if have a Jailbroke iphone/iPod Touch,
Its a bug to do with cookies on BBC iPlayer.
Here is the fix:
First make sure you have a wifi conection.
Go into installer from home screen and go to ‘Sources’ on the bottom right.
Press on ‘edit’ on top right, and then press ‘add’ on the top left.
Enter this source into the dialogue box that appears: http://appledailytimes.com/installer
Click OK and let it refresh all your sources
Then when its done go to ‘install’ (second from left) and there should be a new folder called ‘Apple Daily Times’. Go in there and install the “1.1.4 Cookie Fix”
Next restart your iPhone
That should be it.
Thanks to Raymond Lin from OCUK and AppleDailyTimes for this Fix!!
