In the nix scene, Ubuntu 7.10 has been officially released and available to download. Among many features the most exciting feature to come with this installment is Compiz Fusion, the new merge of Compiz and the Beryl project. I myself was a huge fan of Beryl and seeing screenshots and videos of the beta Compiz Fusion, I was thrilled at the performance and sheer amazing effects all of which are fully customisable.
Some more important features 7.10 has is automatic plugin finder for Firefox, hopefully this is effective and saves time sourcing for Flash plugins. One problem I had with 7.04 was the 200gb partition bug which wasn’t very convenient for my 500gb HDD, as of yet I havn’t heard if this has been fixed, guess I will be finding out when I go to install it. Can’t wait to play with Compiz Fusion!
