Iv’e been getting a lot of feedback for the BBC iPlayer “Error playing movie” problem for the iPhone and iPod Touch and a few people have highligthed that this fix I posted also fixes the error logging in, on certain websites such as facebook and forums etc. So if you need to login back in again on every page, try the BBC iPlayer Fix and it should sort it out.
There is some other methods out there that involve SSH into your iPhone/ iPod Touch and changing file permissions etc, if you find this a bit daunting try this, its very simple and quick!

On September 1st, 2008 at 8:59 pmI am running V2.0.2 on a jailbroken phone and have had this same problem since upgrading. Do you know if there’s a fix available.
Thanks

On September 3rd, 2008 at 8:31 pmI’m sorry sue there doesn’t seem to be a fix unless you are able to get installer on you v2. If you do havet installer you can follow my post on fixing BBC iPlayer and it should do the job.

On September 3rd, 2008 at 8:53 pmOn second thoughts Sue J if you have Cydia on your jailbroken v2.0.2 see if you can install BossPrefs and use “Fix user Dir Permissions” option.
If this does not work and you are confident enough to do some SSH or terminal on you iphone you can use this command:
chmod mobile /var/mobile/Library/Cookies/
chmod mobile /var/mobile/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
